A visit to the Zoo is the best way to get an introduction to the animals of Belize and to understand why it is important to protect the habitats that sustain them.

The Belize Zoo has become the first nature destination in Belize that is fully accessible to visitors with physical disabilities. It is a non-governmental, non-profit organization focused on wildlife conservation through wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education.

The best little zoo in the world, with over 200 rescued animals and over 45 native species. 

Opening Hours: 
8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Saturday - Last entrance at 4:00 PM
8:30am to 4:00pm on Sundays - Last entrance at 3:00 PM

How to Book
1. Submit a request for Belize Zoo tickets. Specify the schedule date. All bookings have the flexibility to reschedule up to 1 day before the scheduled date. 

You must submit the first name + last of all customers. 

2. Confirmation: Once your booking request is submitted, a Belizing customer service agent will accept your request and book your tickets vouchers. The booking details and ticket vouchers will be emailed to you.

Any bookings cancelled within 24 hours of the selected schedule date and time are eligible for a 97% refund (a 3 % processing fee will be deducted).

Amazing and shaded!
We had a great time! We enjoyed seeing all the cool animals and many we’ve never seen before. It’s so amazing that these are all animals that have been rescued. The cafe had a variety of food options. Also they have wagons to rent for a small fee. Very interactive especially for kids but the adults enjoyed too lol. This is my favorite zoo by far! Definitely visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful Experience
I am a true animal lover, and this place filled my heart with joy, not only seeing some of the unique animals of the region, but knowing how the zoo got started and meeting some of the wonderful staff that care for these animals. It always saddens me to know how humans have exploited some of these beautiful creatures over the years, but it’s good to know that laws are in place to help protect them. ... more A highlight for me was the Tapir experience. Getting to feed this gentle giant and learn something about him was quite unique. We come from Canada, where we see many bald eagles, but to see the Harpy was extra special. We missed most of the big cats as they were sleeping, but it was still a very worthwhile visit. So glad we made the effort to make the trip.

Belize Zoo
Was a wonderful experience to see the wildlife of Belize. If you are prone to insect bites wear repellent!! Did not know I had been bitten until seeing blood spots all over legs. The walkways are all well marked. Staff is friendly. The platform build for the Harpy eagles is fabulous. What majestic birds. The explanations written for the animals are excellent. Well worth the trip.

Terrific zoo doing great work
We loved the zoo! Arrived early and had it to ourselves for an hour before a fab school party arrived- 100 small children having the time of their lives seeing Belize’s natural heritage close up. What a great place. Learned loads and loved seeing the kids learn too…thank you!

Zoo visit
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the zoo. The staff members were pleasant and helpful, and there was a wide array of animals to see and interact with in settings that are less like enclosures and more like their natural habitat (which is something I definitely appreciated.)

Amazing experience
Better than anticipated. There's always shade, the staff is friendly and helpful, and you can dee the animals from really up close. Mind you it's a zoo in the middle of the jungle. Use a lot of insect repellent and watch out for ant trails.
