Start your day by stepping into the heart of Belize’s wildlife conservation efforts at the world-famous Belize Zoo. This beloved “zoo in the jungle” is home to over 150 native animals—none imported—all rescued or born in captivity. After your wildlife encounter, it's time to cool off and gear up for an adventure through time. Your guide will lead you on a 30-minute scenic hike through the rainforest to the entrance of Belize’s famed underground cave system. Once there, you'll be fitted with your safety gear—helmet, headlamp, inner tube, and life vest—before easing into the gentle, cool river.
As you float, the current carries you beneath cathedral-like limestone formations into ancient caves once revered by the Maya as sacred ceremonial sites.
