Description

World-Class Crystal Cave! Visited by top world cavers! Human Skeletal Remains are visible in the cave!

Venture into a breathtaking experience of a world-class crystal cave at St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park. Even the best geologists, cavers, and geomorphologists rarely get to see such a magical expression of deep underground limestone. For the ancient Maya, caves were the spiritual realm they called Xibalba, the dwelling of gods and spirits on their quest for the heavens.

During the time of their Ancient civilization, the Mountain Cow Cave also known as the Crystal Cave was a sacred place of such importance that it hosted ceremonies involving human sacrifices.

The evidence of crystalized human bones is impressive. The cave formations are the best expression of the world of minerals within the limestone composition of the Maya mountains.

Experience the mesmerizing effect that the Ancient Maya saw in the underworld: the dancing flames from their wooden torches lighting the way through dancing crystals and spirits of their ancestors. Crystal Cave has been visited by many top world cavers, looking for that spectacular and rare glimps of nature. In this case, MAGICAL as it mixed with superstitions and Remnants of ancient Maya rituals and the SUPERNATURAL.

This tour is physically demanding but well worth the effort. We start with a 50-minute hike through the tropical forest, reaching the cave entrance where we rappel 15 feet into the cave.

Cancellation Notice from Classic Expeditions Belize:
In Belize, rainy periods come and go in various intensities (keep in mind, we are in the rain-forest!) Frequently and especially during the rainy season (June to November and extending many
times as late January) It is difficult to provide advance cancellation notice for water-based adventure tours and many times there is simply no notice time at all. Rains are not always falling in our immediate area, but further up into the hills and surrounding watershed. Rivers will start rising but we won't see the effect until hours later. It is not unusual for the weather and river to be perfect in the early morning.

For adventures that include water activities
Even though the weather condition might make the tour permissible, we might not make it advisable. If we
inform you that the weather condition prevents us from doing your tour, Classic Expeditions Company reserves the right to cancel the adventure and apologizes for any inconveniences caused because of the cancellation of these water-based adventures with little or no notice.

If the water level changes considerably and it is not safe to go on the tour, it will be canceled.
Although Classic Expeditions does not provide refunds for situations where the weather is concerned, we will always provide you with an alternative activity. We will offer to move the tour to another date or recommend an alternative activity for the day. We take the safety of our guests and staff seriously. Thus, we will not start any tour if we consider it to be a risk to your safety and our guides.
